Background
The existing Skodje bridge from 1922 is in poor condition, and the introduction of restrictions for the traffic over the bridge. Today, the only vehicles with total weight 3.5 tons or less and with a maximum height 2.3 meters that can run over the bridge. Heavy traffic, including bus route, must drive through Skodje center, which increases veglengda between the areas north of the bridge and Skodje Ålesund by approx. 10 km. In addition to inflict additional road driving, it also leads to the center Skodje host unnecessarily impacted by through traffic. A new bridge leading to far less traffic through Skodje center, and will provide a total of bu-arbeidsmarknad region and better conditions.

Vegstrekninga extends from the intersection of E39/E136 by Diger shift via the new bridge over the river and through the tunnel toward Stette. The entire stretch is in Skodje council, is ca. 3 600 meters, and is divided into two construction steps.
